St. Mary Magdalen offers youth religious formation classes for students in grades 1-10. Students are taught by dedicated volunteer catechists who strive to share their own faith with the class. Rather than merely imparting facts, our classes strive to invite each student to a personal relationship with Jesus.
All classes include a heavy emphasis on what is known as the Kerygma (Greek for 'proclamation'. This was the style of teaching employed by the Apostles). In short, the message of the Kerygma is that God, out of pure love and a desire to save us from our sins, has become man in Jesus Christ. His death on the cross redeems us and, through our response of faith, opens to us the possibility of sharing in his resurrection
Classes are offered on Sunday mornings from 9:15 - 10:45AM and on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 - 7:00PM.
