Have you ever wondered what the Catholic Church teaches about social issues and why? Join Deacon Devon for a 5 part series on the Themes of Catholic Social Teaching. We will review the theology and philosophy behind what the Church believes and then examine how the Church applies those principles to real-world problems. The goal is to equip all of us with a solid foundation in Church teaching so we can to look at the world and its issues through the lens of what we believe as Catholics.

In this class, participants will learn:

• The history of Catholic Social Teaching
• The theology and reasoning behind the four main themes of CST
  • Dignity of the Human Person
  • The Common Good
  • Subsidiarity
  • Solidarity
• How to apply the understanding of these teachings to current-day issues
