What is ALPHA?
Alpha creates an environment of hospitality where people can bring their friends, family and work colleagues to explore the Christian faith, ask questions and share their point of view. Alpha makes it easy to invite friends to have a meal, hear a short teaching talk, and have an opportunity to explore life’s biggest questions in a safe and respectful way.
What to expect:
Food, a talk and good conversation.
We start with food, because it’s a great way to encourage community and to get to know one another
The talks are designed to engage and inspire conversation. Generally thirty minutes long, they can be given as a live talk or played as a video. They explore the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions such as Who is Jesus? and How can we have faith?
Probably the most important part of any Alpha: the chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic, and simply discuss it in a small group. There’s no obligation to say anything. And there’s nothing you can’t say. It’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.
Alpha is a 12week program offered Thursday evenings or Wednesday mornings starting January 10th and 11th, 2018 ending April 11th and 12th, 2018. Saturday March 3rd, 2018 is an all-day retreat.
